The Commercial Team is constantly looking for the best products for our assortment. The goal? To make shopping as easy as possible for our customers. Among other things, thorough research and optimisation of the product rankings are important steps in achieving this goal! The Commercial Team is divided into two smaller teams: The Community Engagement Team and the Partnerships Team.
The Community Engagement team focuses on developing relationships with our local customers. This is all about organising events that help us strengthen our customer base and Picnic as a brand.
The Partnerships team focuses on building relationships with companies. New products are tested in an innovative way and the results are shared by building intuitive dashboards. As the company grows, the Partnerships team is exposed to more and more demanding requirements, which means that processes are improved on a daily basis (and many great samples end up with us).
Picnic has big plans for the future: from large automated Fulfilment Centres to small Hubs at hundreds of locations in Germany, the Netherlands, France and other countries. The Construction & Real Estate team plays a very important role in these plans. The task of this team is to find suitable locations and rental properties in all possible places, to conclude appropriate contracts and to develop the buildings into functioning Fulfilment Centres and Hubs. The team members have an eye for building requirements, the necessary know-how paired with negotiating skills and the chance to take over responsibility for challenging Building & Equipment projects.
The Creative & Design team is responsible for developing Picnic as a brand and giving it the right look and feel in a variety of ways. The team loves and lives its creativity, constantly improving not only the user experience but also our product presentations. From social media to internal communication, the Creative & Design team supports the company with creative concepts, texts, graphics, videos or photos. The cooperation in the team works like clockwork, our Creatives complement each other perfectly!
The Customer Success Team is the first point of contact for our customers. Our so-called Agents are the friendly soul on the other end of the phone or in the WhatsApp chat and are there to help and advise our customers if they have any questions or are looking for contact with Picnic. It is therefore important that they are informed about the latest developments in each team and are in close contact with all the other Picnic teams. The common goal of the Customer Success Team is to achieve consistently high, and at best 100%, customer satisfaction.
The Facilities & Admin team looks after the upkeep and maintenance of our Fulfilment Centres, Hubs and Offices. From our cooks to our caretakers, each member of this team has a huge impact on the whole Picnic family and plays a huge part in making us all feel at home on site.
The People Team works on many different fronts to ensure that everyone feels comfortable at Picnic and that Picnic remains a great place to work and grow. The People Team is made up of many different positions, which include the traditional HR department, but also our hardworking Recruiters and many more! Hand in hand, the team contributes to the company's growth by constantly seeking new talent for open positions and strengthening our employer brand.
The Finance Team - as the name suggests - takes care of the company's finances. It works together with almost all other teams and plays a crucial role in the development of Picnic.
There is no central team at Picnic that consists only of Analysts. There is a reason for this, because our Analysts work in all areas of the company and have their fingers virtually everywhere. Every day, they test important components of their respective areas with the help of new experiments, constantly coming up with new ways to optimise them. Their work is a balancing act between long-term, sustainable growth and short-term, easy wins. This presents them with new challenges every day and brings with it great responsibility. The goal of the Analysts is to continue to push Picnic's further growth and to make the work of the individual teams even more efficient.
The Technology & Engineering team is based at our headquarters in Amsterdam and stands for software, data intelligence and innovation! It works cloud-based and develops almost everything in-house. The team members are passionate about machine learning, comb through huge datasets every day and are only satisfied when their models are calibrated with minimal errors. They see chaos as a challenge and are team players with strong communication skills. Whether it's order predictions for the Picnic App or warehouse planning for the Fulfilment Centres, the Technology & Engineering team pioneers new business and operational processes and is the driving force behind continuous optimisation programmes.
From the Fulfilment Centre to ePv: the Operations & Supply Chain team takes care of Picnic's entire supply chain. In doing so, the team members show a lot of hands-on mentality while working with a wide variety of teams. The Operations team's work is all about logistics and impacts our processes in the Netherlands, Germany and France. It plays a big role in the further expansion of Picnic.
